So Baby Cole came early. Born Oct, 13, 2007. 7:01 pm. 8 lbs 14 oz 20 1/2 inches.

And he looks like his sister but just a male version of her. I think you can just look at him and know he's a boy.

2nd one is of Mema (me) and Cole
3rd is of Mema and Cole
4th is of Dade, Coles Daddy, Cole and Mia, Cole's big sister. I know she's his big sister cuz it says so on her shirt!
5th one is of Cole's Mommy, checking out his toes, and Cole and Aunt Rue Rue in the corner.

here are a few photos.

New knitting student

Just wanted to share this with you all. Here is Eric. He is my gson's cousin. I've known him from the day he was born. He always calls me his Mema and he is my grandson .

Anyway he asked me to teach him to knit last week. I was really happy about that.

Well today was his first lesson. He did really well. He knows how to cast on and to knit and purl.

all that learned in two hours.

Pretty good huh? I just sent him home with the ball of yarn and a set of needles. He's gonna practice at home and come back on thursday.

one baby blanket done and one baby almost done

Well my new grandson is almost here. I am so excited. Only a few more weeks left.

Here is first blanket I made him. just finished it the other day.
I've got the second one on the needles and got a good start on it. This new one is in dark sage and edging will be blue. Hope it's gonna match the baby's bedding. If not well it's his anyway.
His name is Cole David Sallade and I just wish he'd get here sooner.
We had a baby shower for Tina on the 16th. It was a good day.

first try at the purse design

Ok so here is the first try. It didn't come out the way I wanted so will try again, IN the meantime, this purse will do. I did take out the bottom spiral so I can redo it a bit more over. It is just not balanced the way it looks in this photo.
Actually I am going to remove all the little swirls. I have ordered som roving so will wait til it comes in and then needle felt some swirls on it again. I love these little swirls.
I will trade this purse for some sock blockers if anyone wants to trade.

felted clogs almost done

Here are my clogs I am making for my daughter Ruthie. I only need to make the second pair of soles and add them and then felt them. Like I said, almost done!!!
We are having a felted clog KAL in my group. Everyone had to buy the pattern and get the yarn and then we started. It's fun doing them together with a group of gurls. I think I'm going to make a few more pairs for christmas gifts!

4th of july

Hope everyone had a great holiday, we did here!!

We had an impromptu barbeque cuz everyone got home from work early. So we did like we always do here and did the Mexican barbeque with grilled carne asade, onions, and hot dogs, and inside I made beans and rice and guacamole and salsa. yummmm

And then later we watched the fireworks from the waterfront from our front porch. We could see them thru all the trees. lol it was nice.

Princess Mia Bella's Birthday July 2

This is Mia Bella's 2nd birthday party. Her Mom and Dad own an ice company and live in Napa Valley CA and of course she had to be born in the most busiest time of the year. So now on her birthday her mom and dad have to rush home after working their butts off and have her party. They were pooped by the time it was over and Mommy Tina is pregnant so she was even more pooped. This time of year daddy has to work like 60 days straight with no days off. Why??? cuz he owns the company and that's what you do. lol
Anyway Mia enjoyed the day and all her cousins there and all the dolls and toys she got. I think she got 4 dolls and a bunch of balls and puzzles cuz she loves all that stuff.
I'm going up there on Friday to spend the day with her. Makes me happy and that's what counts.
byeeee for now.

Patt's knitting group

We are doing a lot of things in my Knit group ( Patt's Knitting Circle). First we are working on a ballband dish cloth kal and also a Monthly Square Series, working on #1 in the series.

Then we have some felted clogs we are going to be starting on in a few days.

So we are just busy as can be.

I am also learning how to make a few name tags with my Paint shop pro 9 program. I just learned how to put text on animated graphics. It's real cool. Well you can't see the animation but believe me it's there. lol

dishcloth finished

So I was doing this KAL in Rachel's knitting group and even tho I finished the cloth and I know what it's suppose to say, I still don't see it clear enough. Can YOU see it? Wish I had used a solid color yarn. poo. I hate to do the work and not be satisfied with it. Oh well.

In my knit group we are just about to start two different KALS. One is the ballband dish cloth and the other is felted clogs. Can't wait to get started on both of them. Gonna do the clogs for my hubby cuz I made myself a pair last year.

Who Knew???

When I started this blog, I had in mind a wonderful, newsy, photofilled blog all about knitting and my love of yarn and knitting and crocheting.

Well I just looked at my blog, really looked at it and read what I posted and looked at the photos, and I just realized that my life is not mostly about yarn and knitting, nope not at all.

I just got a comment from Heather, a member in Rachels' Knitting Group, and she said, " I am new to the group and just clicked on your blog. I felt the need so badly to just let you know that yours is one of the most heartfelt blogs I have ever seen. I could actually see in your posts and pictures, feel the love you have for your family. It makes me tear up!! I have to tell you how much it meant to me to see that kind of thing. You really don't see it any where anymore. Gosh, It makes me wish you were my mom!!. I loved it. Great knitting too!. "

Well, thank you so much Heather. I really appreciate your comment and I always have room for another family member!!! HUgs to you gurl.
So this ends up being about my family with just a few knit items thrown in for laughs!!

Jaives 5th pd

Here is my grandson, Jaive, on his 5th birthday, June 7, 2007. He just LOVED what his Mema and Pa got him. He is sitting on it in this photo. He has been wanting one of these soooo bad. lol They have a big one at home so now he has his own ATV small enough for him.

What do you think about this great tank??

We have been looking for a fish tank for the last few weeks and I just found this on craigslist last Friday. So when hubby got home I showed it to him and he said ok let's get it. So we did!! I have never even seen a double hexagon tank before but now I know they have all sorts of new shaped tanks.
Anyway I just love this one. We got it with everything even 4 fish!! We bought 10 more fish to make the tank more lively. We have Gouramis and swordtails and well mostly gouramis. Even some little pink ones that will grow bigger and not be so pink I guess, called kissing gouramis.
Can you tell I don't know much about fish???? lol bet I'm gonna learn a lot now.
Our dog Rayo is not impress with them at all..

new carpet, are we finally done???

We finally got new carpet installed in the house last week. HOpefully that is the last thing that needs to be done that is a big job. I know the bathroom needs a little touch up and the bedrooms need some paint touch up but think that's it.

I love my house. It is mostly neat and pretty and almost the way I want it.

We did just get a new fish tank on Friday and we are rearranging the living room to make it fit in.

We had to remove my entertainment center which houses most of the yarn that I have been working with this last year. It is sitting on the porch right now and hubby has given the center away. I wanted to keep it but he has overridden me this time. shoot.

Happy May a first communion and baby blanket

Today my oldest granddaughter, Monica, is having her first communion. This is a preview of her in her dress. She is 12 and becoming a beautiful young lady!!

Wow, it's been a super long time since I posted. Hopefully my life is going back to normal and I can keep up with this blog a lot better.
Right now I am knitting a baby blanket for my grandbaby due in Oct. I am doing the KKB Blanket pattern found here:
http://wishingiwasknitting.blogspot.com/2007_03_03_archive.html
I'm using redheart baby sport in yellow and a size 10 1/2 circular bamboo needle.
This is a super easy pattern so I can do it while watching tv.
I have some yarn in the color linen coming in soon and I wanted to use this pattern to make myself an afghan for the livingroom but I wanted to see how it worked up first and I needed a blankie for the new coming baby. 2 birds with one stone so to speak.

family photos

Floor is done!! and table too

Here is our tiled floor. All finished. I think hubby did a fabulous job. 2 of the days he worked on it he had hired help and that really sped things along. He just finished putting on the small baseboards and also putting in the rest of the pantry and cubboard shelves. I think he has only one small shelf to put in under the sink. And then here is the table that we built ourselves. The granite company made the top to our specs and we put the rest together. I designed it and hubby and Javie kid made it. only have a little facing to put on it underneath and we have to seal the top again. oh and seal the floor grout as well. So what do you think of it???

Heart to Knit cloth

I finished this cloth yesterday I think or the day before. It is the first thing in a while that I have finished. Hopefully this will end my long stretch of not knitting. Can't explain it except just can't get to all my yarns that I need to have right next to me at all times or I will have a fit.

Since we have started the little kitchen project that has turned into a 3 month long monster project all, well most, of my yarn has been sitting nicely in place but with boxes of stuff stacked in front of it plus my new rocking chair recliner. I am so tired of this already. Someone give me a stick of dynomite and a match please. I need to clear a way to my petting yarns........

on going kitchen renovations

We have the tinest kitchen, I swear, but we have tried to make it look nice. When my oven died, hubby decided it was time to upgrade the rest of the kitchen. So far he has torn down the breakfast bar that we never used except for clutter and the microwave.
Thats him starting on it in the top photo.
Then he took off counters and sink and reinforced all the insides and put in new plywood on top.
NExt day guys came with the granite countertops and installed them. We had the bathroom counter top done as well and also got a granite top to use as a tabletop that hubby is going to make.
Hubby got the plumbing done and appliances all hooked up. ie counter cook top, and oven. Then he decided to take out the flooring he had put in 2 yrs ago. I love that flooring. Then he decided to paint the back of the cabinets and put in shelf paper. The drawers are done and the new knobs and draw pulls are in. The table is done. Now he has to paper the shelfs, put the dishes back in and pots and pans, then do the pantry closet which needs more shelfs as well and put down a new tile floor. The kitchen should all be done by then. Then we can arrange our livingroom again and get it cleared of all his tools and spare pieces of wood. Sooner or later I know my home will be comfy and clean again. just hope it happens soon.

Knitted purse and teddy bear done

I can't believe that it took me this long (months) to finish knitting this purse. It is one of the easiest ones to do. We started it as a knit along in my knit group but somehow it got lost by the wayside and I decided to finish it yesterday since my knitted teddybear was all done. bear came out ok. I wish I had put button eyes and nose on it but I wanted my grandkids to be able to play with it without anything coming off. We also did the bear as a knit along. It was more popular than the purse. lol
