Gotta make something

For as long as I can remember I have this need to make things, to keep my hands busy. Who cares if I make a big mess in the process as long as I am making something. I know my hubby wishes that I get the urge to make a lot of great dinners but that's not happening. I could make him a nice place mat tho. lol

I've got all these fat quarters of fabric laying around doing nothing and I saw this way cute double pointed needle holder and as the lady is charging $28 and $31 for hers I decided to make my own. So far I've got the material cut and the batting too for one. Now just gotta find a clear place on my kitchen table to put my machine and I'll have one made in a jiffy. If it turns out good enough I'm gonna make a couple of them. Could use one as a prize in my knitting group.

Only way to keep the members posting is to bribe them with prizes. lol Will post a photo when I've gotten a couple done.

A Crocheted item

So I haven't crocheted in such a long time. I had forgotten where I put my hooks. But I saw this really cute flower scarf being given away in a contest and I entered the contest but just in case I don't win I figured that I could make one, if I found those hooks.

I looked and looked then just as I was getting frazzled I looked out the window and there was the container with my hooks. sitting in the window all this time. whew

So with my contest winning prize of some lion brand suede yarn in Olive, I crocheted a flower and then the chains, 10 of them. and it was done!! Here it is being modeled by my grand daughters Monica and Olivia, and by the way Olivia's birthday was on the 5th of this month and she is now 12, and Monica's birthday is on the 14 of this month and she will be 15.

Happy Birthday Tina!!

Today is my baby gurls birthday. She's not a baby but she's my youngest. Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing birthday hon. Love Mom

Happy New Year and contest on my knit group

I know I'm a few days late but I'm here now. I just finished my first project of the new year. A pair of wristwarms in the pattern called "Fetching" . I used 100% cashmere yarn in a chocolate brown color. They came out great.

I'm having a 7 day contest in my knitting circle group. For the first 7 days of this year everyone that posts to the group gets entered into the contest. On Jan 8 I will use a random number generator and pick a winner. These wristwarmers are going to come in handy to some lucky member!!

Hello and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my friends and followers!! I have changed my site a bit to celebrate 2010.

I sure hope that you all had a great Christmas. Were you all nice or naughty? I must have been naughty because Santa missed my house again this year. :(

We did have a great time at Tina and Dades again this year. The kids got great gifts and had a good time. The dinner was prime rib and delicious as always. Here is a few photos that I took there.

The Holidays are here!!

This year has flown by so fast, here it is almost Thanksgiving and then Christmas.

Thanksgiving is going to be quiet here as hubby works most of the holidays. Hubby has already put up a few christmas lights with lots more to come.

This year I have followed my own tradition and made a couple of handmade ornaments for our tree.

I just love making handmade ornaments and giving some out to my girls. I hope that long after I'm gone they will have good memories everytime they decorate their trees.

A Good Visit

It had been a while since I had seen Tina and hubby and kids so they came over to visit me yesterday. Mia Bella really enjoyed the visit as I did. this visit our new puppy came out of hiding and as you can see both dogs loved Mia Bella and her them. soo cute!! Coley had a good visit as well but he was inclined to butt heads with the dogs. They have a massive dog and he is used to his big o dog and running and roughhousing with it. My dogs like to play but not quite the Coley way. I think Coley wore his Mommy out trying to keep him from squishing the dogs. lo.

Disneyland 2009

Socking again!!

I know I know, this seems like deja vu'. But no matter. I've started working on my 2 socks on 1 needle (magic loop) again. Here is a photo I took about 30 seconds ago.

I can actually see me finishing and wearing these socks. And making some more!! It's gonna get cold here one of these days and I plan on wearing the heck out of these socks. lol

My granddaughter, Monica is in her 1st year of high school and she is in band. She's got drums, the one with 4 little drums. don't know what it's called but she had her first performance last night at the first game

local Fashion Show

My daughter and her hubby and kids came to visit me the other day so I had the chance to give Mia Bella the pink tutu I had made for her. She has started taking ballet class so I thought she'd love a tutu.

Well she totally and I mean totally ignored the tutu. Coley on the other hand, had fun with it.

Then a day or so later I got a call from Tina. She just finished up a photo shoot with Mia Bella and her tutu. Tina said Mia Bella had the tutu on for days!!! Check out the model. She is having a total ball.

You surely can't tell by the photos but Mia Bella is very shy, even here she is shy. But boy does she get bold when the camera is on her. Love her!! ANd Coley, he isn't shy at all and he is soooo cute. Love him!!!
