Floor is done!! and table too

Here is our tiled floor. All finished. I think hubby did a fabulous job. 2 of the days he worked on it he had hired help and that really sped things along. He just finished putting on the small baseboards and also putting in the rest of the pantry and cubboard shelves. I think he has only one small shelf to put in under the sink. And then here is the table that we built ourselves. The granite company made the top to our specs and we put the rest together. I designed it and hubby and Javie kid made it. only have a little facing to put on it underneath and we have to seal the top again. oh and seal the floor grout as well. So what do you think of it???

Heart to Knit cloth

I finished this cloth yesterday I think or the day before. It is the first thing in a while that I have finished. Hopefully this will end my long stretch of not knitting. Can't explain it except just can't get to all my yarns that I need to have right next to me at all times or I will have a fit.

Since we have started the little kitchen project that has turned into a 3 month long monster project all, well most, of my yarn has been sitting nicely in place but with boxes of stuff stacked in front of it plus my new rocking chair recliner. I am so tired of this already. Someone give me a stick of dynomite and a match please. I need to clear a way to my petting yarns........

on going kitchen renovations

We have the tinest kitchen, I swear, but we have tried to make it look nice. When my oven died, hubby decided it was time to upgrade the rest of the kitchen. So far he has torn down the breakfast bar that we never used except for clutter and the microwave.
Thats him starting on it in the top photo.
Then he took off counters and sink and reinforced all the insides and put in new plywood on top.
NExt day guys came with the granite countertops and installed them. We had the bathroom counter top done as well and also got a granite top to use as a tabletop that hubby is going to make.
Hubby got the plumbing done and appliances all hooked up. ie counter cook top, and oven. Then he decided to take out the flooring he had put in 2 yrs ago. I love that flooring. Then he decided to paint the back of the cabinets and put in shelf paper. The drawers are done and the new knobs and draw pulls are in. The table is done. Now he has to paper the shelfs, put the dishes back in and pots and pans, then do the pantry closet which needs more shelfs as well and put down a new tile floor. The kitchen should all be done by then. Then we can arrange our livingroom again and get it cleared of all his tools and spare pieces of wood. Sooner or later I know my home will be comfy and clean again. just hope it happens soon.

Knitted purse and teddy bear done

I can't believe that it took me this long (months) to finish knitting this purse. It is one of the easiest ones to do. We started it as a knit along in my knit group but somehow it got lost by the wayside and I decided to finish it yesterday since my knitted teddybear was all done. bear came out ok. I wish I had put button eyes and nose on it but I wanted my grandkids to be able to play with it without anything coming off. We also did the bear as a knit along. It was more popular than the purse. lol

Mia Bella and Rayo

Just thought I'd post a photo of my youngest granddaughter, Mia Bella. She is 19 months old now and she loves the Backyardigans, especially Pablo and Tasha whom she calls Sasha. And she also loves my chihuahua Rayo and he loves her.

Spiral Swirl Dishcloth

I just started this dishcloth. I've never made a circular one and I want to do a circular sweater in a month or two so thought this would be great practice. It is very easy to do.

In my knit group we are going to be doing a toy KAL in a few days. It's a teddybear pattern. real cute. here is the link to it.

come join us and make this bear with us.

magic loop

Granddaughter Mia Bella and my dog Rayo
Well my darling little dog got hold of my magic loop with the 2 socks on it, well not actually socks cuz there were only 2 rows done on it, but I digress.

He tangled up those 2 balls of yarn so bad that I spent over 2 hours working to untangle them and so far I have gotten zilch. think they are even more tangled than before. I should have known better than to leave my work on my nightstand. Rayo dog can climb on the bed now and help himself to anything he fancies on there. Like my remote to the house alarm or my rings or earrings or my wip (work in progress).

Oh and a member of my Patt's Knitting Circle group sent me the book on magic loops so now I can start all over and actually know what to do as opposed to what I did was just start with a bit of info and try to wing it. Thanks so much to Vicky C.

Magic Loop learning

I love learning new things and techniques so I finally learned how to knit socks on dp needles. I have knit 3 socks so far but haven't done a pair of 2 yet. So I have decided to learn how to make 2 socks at the same time using the Magic Loop.

I have cast on and done one round on both socks and have started on the second round of a k2p2 ribbing. I thought that I had started both balls of yarn at the same place but I see that I didn't. Oh well, I gotta learn some how.
We are doing this as KAL in my Patt's Knitting Circle yahoo group. Anyone want to come join us please do. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pattsknittingcircle/

felted purse done!!!

Ok so here is the finished product. Now I am going to do a few things to it and see if I like it any better. Right now I feel that it is not tall enough nor does it close secure enough for me. I plan on taking in the sides by the handles and cutting off the tabs for the front closure and adding a button and button hole and maybe a little embellishment on the flap with a few gems or whatknot.

As always soon as I finish a purse I am itching to start another, better one. sigh.

Mystery Bag KAL

Here is my mystery kal purse progress. I have finished the bottom of the bag and have 3 rows done of the body. This purse I plan on using as my always bag. I love pretty bright bags but tend to use a basic black one allll the time so thought it was time to make one that I really really like and can use. so ta da, this is it (I hope)
Almost all of the bags that I make have been given away as gifts or in swaps so I am gonna keep this one all to myself.
After the kal is over I will post the link to the pattern here so all can enjoy as well.

Square Knitting Needles

Well I learn something new every day, did you know that? And today I learned that there are square knitting needles to be had. Of course this means that I HAVE to have some now.
Do you know anyone that has used them? Have you got any????
I hate to spend my $$ on something that I won't use but I do it all the time. duhhhh you'd think that would be the something new I'd learn one of these days but nooooooooo, not in this lifetime. lol
So on ebay there is this whole set of square needles going for $190. Did I bid on them you say??? Nope I didn't. hahaha fooled you. but I really wanted to but my petty cash pocket is not THAT deep.

We are starting on a new kal in my knitting group. It's a mystery purse kal. I have chosen a cute purse pattern and will give out parts of the pattern like every 3 days until it's done. Then we can all post photos of our finished purses.

The pattern I picked is a cute one and I've been waiting for the chance to make it. weeeee now I can with everyone else.

Alos I want to start on a lesson on using a magic loop to make a pair of socks. we shall see how that works out. lol

ACK!! I've just been TAGGED

I'll be darn!!! I've just been tagged by Cyn from http://www.cynscorner.blogspot.com/

THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

So here goes:
1. first thing I think of is when I was in 7th grade. My Mom asked me to heat up the water in her water bottle thing. back then it was this rubber thing with a stopper that held water and you used it as a hot pack, it was this ugly pink reddish thing. Well I took it and put the whole thing in a pot of water and put it on the stove to get hot. Later Mom came looking to see what was taking so long and she almost died laughing at the site of that darn hotwater bottle sitting in the pot on the stove. lol

2. I LOVE to read books about murders and serial killers. (wonder what that means)

3. I love to watch Forensic Investigations on tv

4. I eat saltine crackers and drink cola almost every night before I go to bed.

5. I was a nail technician and had my own salon

6. I am a house wife but rarely do housework or cook.

ok there. NOw these are the peeps that I am tagging.
