Goodies from SecretPal

Look at all the fabo goodies I got from my secret pal today. I love the needle case. Well I love all of it. even the little lite/fan combo. Now I can stay cool even out side with my fan. And my froggy is now sitting on top of my flatscreen monitor looking at me as if to say....well, come on, lets play leap frog!!!" lol Thanks Pal, you're the greatest..

Here is a photo of my progress on my swap purse. I am doing the pattern called Romantic Ruffles. I just finished a secretpal project so now I will have the time to concentrate on this purse. I think it's going to look really good when it's all done and felted.

I got the best stitchmarkers in the mail yesterday from Deb Page. Aren't they fabulous? I just love them.
I hope she likes the ones I sent to her. 

A little venting

I am just wondering what has become of courtesy? Do you remember when businesses wanted you to come visit their stores so bad that they trained their personnel to be friendly and helpful to customers? I remember, but that memory is getting vague.
Here's what I mean. A few days ago, hubby and I went into an Apple store. you know, as in apple computers, laptops, ipods? Having acquired an ipod, we were looking for another way to charge it besides hooking it up to our computer. The man at the store told us that the only way to charge the batteries was to hook it up to puter. We strolled around the store and found an isle with nothing but accessories to charge the ipod; from your car and from the wall and many others such items. These items were about 1 foot away from the cashier that told us there was no other way. HELP ME!! Why is he working there and giving out advice if he doesn't know anything about ipods????
Next, my sis and I went to Walmart looking for some varnish. In the paint dept, here was a guy mixing paint. Asked if he knew where the varnish was kept, he pointed to a few isles over from him. We went over there and looked and looked, and nope, no varnish. We went back to where man was mixing paint and low and behold, there was the varnish not 5 feet away in the isle right next to the guy. Again HELP ME!!
And my sis and I were both on the electric carts for disabled patrons. As my sis was going down an isle, this lady and her hubby dashed in front of my sis and almost ran her over. The lady looked at my sis and let out such a barrage of foul language that I bet would make a sailor blush. She called my sis the f word and much more. She said she wanted to slap the s*** out of her and my sis said, "Well if you want to chance it, I am very capable of getting off this cart and knocking you out!!" That cracked me up. Go Sis. I told the lady she was just too rude to be allowed outside. Lady continued griping even after her hubby told her to just shut up.
HELP THAT LADY!!
I just couldn't believe that it really happened. Whew!
Ok I feel better now and am done with my venting. Thanks so much for your time. :P

sock yarn from Knit Picks

Got this sock yarn and needles in the other day. I'm thinking that I will make some socks for Christmas gifts this year. Think I better start soon too!!
I finally got some bamboo dp needles now hopefully my stitches will stay where I put them.

Right now I am almost finished with a tote bag for a swap. I am using bright pink and bright yellow yarns for it and have made a few little flowers to be added where I will attach the handles.

So it's soooo hot here that all I could work on is a dish cloth with a dolphin on it. I am almost done with it.

What is going on with the weather here in the Bay Area of Calif??? I mean in Vacaville it was 112 today. I have never, in 48 yrs seen that sort of heat. In my town, Vallejo, it was 100. Holy cow and tomorrow is gonna be even hotter. We got a heat way going on. Sheesh.

Who is this in their truck ??? It looks like a baby and a daddy. Ahhhhh It is a baby, Mia Bella, and a daddy. Mia is telling me, her Mema, bye bye. Bye bye Mia gurl, Mema loves you!!! I got to watch her for a little while today while Mommy and Daddy went and bought themselves a new car. Can you say PT Cruiser?????

knitted purse for a swap

Well I finally got this little knitted purse done. I don't know if I love the flower on it or not. I'm thinking a smaller white one would be better. I'll make one and see.
This flower is the one in the Noni bag pattern for the Night garden evening bag but it's not felted. actually I made this purse after that whole pattern some, just didn't felt it or make it as big. Think I will make myself one of the other bags I got , maybe the triangle baguette. 

And the patterns

The first pattern is called "In The Sculpture Garden". There are two patterns here. one triangel baguette and one triangle bag. Second pattern is called "Night Garden Felted Evening Bag" I think I am going to make the night garden one first. I love the flowers on it. Well I love the flowers on the other bag too!! I have joined the Noni bag blog so am going to go check out what's going on there.

Bad Bad Dog

Can you tell that this was a very nice porch sofa when I left to go to Walmart with my sis Bikki this morning. Just a tiny 2 hours later this is what I came home to. My darlin' dog couldn't find anything else to tear up so he tore up the sofa.
I could just kill him, I swear. I keep telling my hubby that a cage is what we need and he keeps saying NO. Well we'll see about that now. I'm going to get one tomorrow. This dog will learn his place or else!!! But I love my doggy. He is just a bad bad puppy. :) 

pop can or water bottle cozy

In Creative Korners group I am in the popcan cozy swap. I have the cutest pattern for a knitted one in my newest Creative Knitting mag but it calls for sport weight yarn and I didn't have any in the color I wanted. But I did have some cotton yarn. So I just crocheted a circle big enough for the bottom of the can and then using dp needles, I picked up stitches all around and started with k2 p2 ribbing for 6 rows and then stockinet st for 9 rows then 6 more rows of the rib pattern. That's as far as I have gotten today. I will do the 9 rows of stockinet st and another 6 of the ribbing and that will probably be enough. It's gonna be cute but not as cute as the pattern in my mag. I will make myself one of those soon as I wind up some of the yarn I have in the lavendar. sweet mild color.
