Cole's 1st Birthday Party!!

Just wanted to share with you all what fun we had at Cole's party today.

First, here is the birthday boy. He's the one in the middle. on the left is his cousin Monica and on the right is his Mommy, Tina and that is Mia Bella in the foreground bottom right.
It was a great party. There was balloons and dinosaur cookies and chocolate dinosaurs galore, And M&M's with Cole's name on them and miniature candy bars with his name and bd date on them and a way cool birthday cake:

There were 4 different cakes that spelled out the name Cole with the o being an egg with a baby dinosaur poppin out of it. The cake was delicious. I brought some home.

There were lots of folks to talk to and kids playing and having fun. There was yummy crackers and to die for cheese spread and chips and dip as well. Lots of refreshments. Then the dinner was beautifully served. There was caeser salad with grilled chicken, fresh green beans with small red potatoes, and pasta salad with cherry tomatoes. Lots of fresh cheese and lunchmeats and breads. It was all great.

They hired a Caricaturist and he set up and did a caricature of each person at the party. It was so much fun. I'm going to use my caricature as my avatar on my groups and ravelry from now on!! Here are a few photos of Rene working:

and here is the one he did of me:

He even has me leaning on my cane and the fringe on my blouse!!

Now here is Cole with his daddy Dade and mommy Tina getting ready to blow out the candles!

Teeny Tiny Swap Goodies

We had a Teeny Tiny Swap on My Knitting Circle group and I received my puffy today! Above is what I got from Kathy Sheppard.
Thanks Kathy. it was a way cool puffy.
In it she sent a tiny little icord wreath, a knit bat with orange neck ribbon, a knit Snowman, and a tiny little knit sweater on a tiny iron hanger, a tiny bottle of body lotion and 12 pks of crystal light on the go Cherry Pomegranate drink. yummmm Oh and she also sent the patterns of the snowman and the bat and the wreath.
Thanks so much for all of it. This was a fun swap.
For future fun come join us at My Knitting Circle. I plan on more fun swaps to come. whooohooo

Button Tab hat

I love the look of this hat. The yarn is 55% wool 45%microfibre and it has a slight fuzz about it which makes it look even softer than it is. and the button tab is just a cool embellishment. You can get a differnt feel for the hat by using different buttons on. I chose this button because I know the person it's for loves gold and she wears a lot of it.

Next two I'm casting on is for a child that loves pink ( meaning Mia Bella and Olivia ) so I bought some cute pink heart buttons to go on them.

The little socks don't fit!!

Mia Bella and Cole came to visit me Sat with their Mommy and Daddy. Cole will be one Oct 13 and he has gone from crawling and standing up to walking like a pro! what's up with that? Oh and those cute little socks I made for him, they are way too small. wahhhhhhhh
I so wanted them to fit him. But nope. Him and his big sis just got new shoes and he is only 2 sizes smaller that Mia Bella. She is 3. and Cole almost 1 so I sure didn't expect him to have big feet. Oh well I should have cuz he does wear a big size of clothes.
Any way, Cole found the jello in my fridge and had to have some. He ate the whole thing too. So did Mia.
So what am I going to do with the socks? Leave me your ideas.
Hugs Patt

Sweet Baby Socks

Just now finished these little socks. They work up real fast. I used the pattern by Judy Ellis called Infant Socks. I changed it up just a bit by only working the ribbing for 4 rows and then doing the straight stockinet stitch. I'm gonna give them to Cole for his birthday. I know I said I wasn't going to show them here yet but I just had to. They are so cute. lol

Knitting Journal pages

I was looking around some blogs today and I found a templete for a kntting journal that I really liked. http://www.kathrynivy.com/patterns/extras/knitting-journal/

I liked it so much that I made one of my own and also a notes page. If you go to the link above you will find that she has made a few other pages for her journal. I'll get around to making more for mine but just wanted to share my designs with you all. You can use hers or mine or make your own if you have the software to do it. But I think it is a wonderful thing to have, a Knittng Journal that is. I have it saved in pdf form so if anyone wants to use my templete just email me and let me know. I'll send it to you by email.

MS4 progress

Here is my progress so far on the mystery 4 stole. I've finished row 4. I've gotten the hang of putting on the beads plus counting on each row. I've even been able to fix a mistake (dropped stitch) with no problems.
My problem is finding the time to work on it when I can concentrate and not have anyone talking to me. I might be able to get in a few minutes today if all goes ok. lol So I can get at least a row done.
How are you doing on it?

New post just for Tina!!!

My daughter, Tina, told me the other day that I need to blog more cuz she is tired of looking at the same stuff here. So I decided to blog about her and her family today.
Hi Tina Bo Bina.
Her and her hubby Dade and kids Mia Bella and Cole live in Napa CA and they own the Napa Valley Ice Company.
http://www.napavalleyice.com/
Tina and the kids run the office and Dade delivers the ice. You can also go to the office and buy ice there as well.
This year Mia Bella is going to preschool (aka day care) while Mom and Coley works. I don't think Cole really does any work, I think he just makes more work for Tina as he is only 10 months old, almost 11 now. See the above photo of him in their dishwasher at home, NOT helping with the dishes but getting in the way. hahahhaha and then him with the blue tongue and face. He found a blue highlighter and tried to eat it. It was fun for him but it took a couple of days for the blue to wash off. He is the sweetest kid tho. A handful but he gives such love and fun that no one minds the busy ness of him.
Mia is a princess. A true girlie girl. She had on some silver shoes the other day when they visited and after they left my carpet just sparkled with tiny little silver stuff. It was cool. Looked like I had dropped a pocketful of tiny diamonds on the ground.

It has been so hot here that I haven't knit or really done anything the last few days except read and watch tv. Thursday we had our carpets and sofa and chair professionally cleaned. Yeah it was so hot that I sat in my puter chair right here in the room while the guy did half the floor and the sofa and chairs (he did the bedrooms first) then hubby moved my chair to the kitchen under the ceiling fan and I sat there while he did the rest. Hubby got a helper to help him move all the 3 rooms of furniture outside and after, back in the house. But we still have a porch full of things we have to go thru and decide what I want to toss and want to keep. I don't want to keep much as less is less clutter in here. now to just talk him into tossing it that's the trick. He hates to throw out stuff.
Ok that's it for today.

ready for the ms4

Ok so I have all the materials needed except for the tiny crochet hook. I bought a size 00 but it is wayy to big so I just ordered a size 12 and 14 last nite from JOanns. They ship fast so it should be here about the time the kal begins.
I have swatched and it looks good with a size 4 needles. oh I also ordered a size 4 bamboo straight needles and a circular one as well. I'm not crazy about the steel ones I have as the last few stitches will slip off way to easy. Wood or bamboo is always better for me. also the straight ones I can use better sometimes.
I haven't knitted a thing in the last few days. It has been just too hot. It always is hot the first week or so of school and the gkids are in the second week of school. so there ya go.

I worked on these booties and the hat the last couple of days. They are for a neighbors new grandson. Aren't they the cutest? I made a couple of these for my grandson Cole and they look so cute on him.
Now I am thinking about making a Wallaby for my granddaughter Mia Bella. She will love it for this winter and I've already made Cole one.

Want to see my water fountain???

Here's what I've been looking at all day. I've just been sitting on my porch, listening to the noise the water makes as it falls, talking to my hubby and my daughter Rue, and the last hour just knitting on some baby booties for a neighbor. How cool looking is this? and in a trailer park no less. lol I'm hoping it will attract the birds in the area. We have lots of them. There was a little lady bug on here but we finally had to rescue it when it got in the water.

Mia Bella's 3rd Birthday July 2.

We celebrated my grandaughter Mia Bella's 3rd birthday earlier this month. She wasn't feeling all that well but I think she had lots of fun that day. She loves music and can sing songs as good as the rest of us can. And smart. she is so smart. She does love her barbie dolls so me and Pa gave her like 5 or 6 of them along with a few other things. Of course she carried the dolls around the rest of the day.

On the phone the other day her mom told her that I was not feeling well and she asked me did I barf? hahahhahahaha she had been sick at day care and had barfed so just wondered if I had too. I absolutely love the things that come out of her mouth.

While she is Miss Independent and would rather not have to kiss anyone hello or goodby, she will give us knuckles when asked. Her brother Cole on the other hand is a lovey dovey guy. And smiling all the time.

Here he is with our dog Rayo. He would follow him around the house and would let Rayo lick him on the mouth for a kiss. his mom would say EEEEhhhhhwwwwww

Day 13

Well I'm starting on day 13 of a 14 day treatment for this bacteria that causes ulcers. I had horrible ulcers when I was only 24 but I finally got it under control after a few years. My dad had bleeding ulcers. Do they run in families?

Anyway, what I thought was side effects of my new diabetes medicine turned out to be the shocking return of the ulcer from hell. Tests from doc discovered that I needed this treatment so here I am. Almost done with it.

I am so full of pepto bismol and prilosec and tetracyline and this other medicine. My body smells like the other medicine. a slight salty sweaty smell. very faint but I am aware of it at all times.

even right after my shower. yuk. i sure do hope this treatment cures me of the bacteria. I will have to have another blood test to find out. Oh I was suppose to be doing this poop 3 day test but I haven't gotten up enogh nerve to do it. I mean if my ulcer is bleeding lets just get rid of it and get on with things already, right? why go poking at my poop. double yuk.

I just have not been myself for the last 2 weeks. I've been in pain and a not so good mood and haven't felt like really talking to or listening to anyone. But I can only live in my bedroom so many hours a day and then have to come out and greet the family or dog or fish whomever is here. I know I've been a bear to live with and I'm so totally sorry about that. When I've needed rest the most and peace and quiet, my house has been filled with folks, playing and having fun and me in my bedroom wishing someone would just come in and ask me if I needed anything, or to just sit for a minute with me quietly. Then I got over it. lol nobody even cared that I was sick and trying to sleep. Such is life and I';m glad I'm here to have it and now I'm going to bed with my hubby who is snoring softly and so it our chihuahua Rayo. Love my guys.
