Knitting Journal pages

I was looking around some blogs today and I found a templete for a kntting journal that I really liked. http://www.kathrynivy.com/patterns/extras/knitting-journal/

I liked it so much that I made one of my own and also a notes page. If you go to the link above you will find that she has made a few other pages for her journal. I'll get around to making more for mine but just wanted to share my designs with you all. You can use hers or mine or make your own if you have the software to do it. But I think it is a wonderful thing to have, a Knittng Journal that is. I have it saved in pdf form so if anyone wants to use my templete just email me and let me know. I'll send it to you by email.

MS4 progress

Here is my progress so far on the mystery 4 stole. I've finished row 4. I've gotten the hang of putting on the beads plus counting on each row. I've even been able to fix a mistake (dropped stitch) with no problems.
My problem is finding the time to work on it when I can concentrate and not have anyone talking to me. I might be able to get in a few minutes today if all goes ok. lol So I can get at least a row done.
How are you doing on it?

New post just for Tina!!!

My daughter, Tina, told me the other day that I need to blog more cuz she is tired of looking at the same stuff here. So I decided to blog about her and her family today.
Hi Tina Bo Bina.
Her and her hubby Dade and kids Mia Bella and Cole live in Napa CA and they own the Napa Valley Ice Company.
http://www.napavalleyice.com/
Tina and the kids run the office and Dade delivers the ice. You can also go to the office and buy ice there as well.
This year Mia Bella is going to preschool (aka day care) while Mom and Coley works. I don't think Cole really does any work, I think he just makes more work for Tina as he is only 10 months old, almost 11 now. See the above photo of him in their dishwasher at home, NOT helping with the dishes but getting in the way. hahahhaha and then him with the blue tongue and face. He found a blue highlighter and tried to eat it. It was fun for him but it took a couple of days for the blue to wash off. He is the sweetest kid tho. A handful but he gives such love and fun that no one minds the busy ness of him.
Mia is a princess. A true girlie girl. She had on some silver shoes the other day when they visited and after they left my carpet just sparkled with tiny little silver stuff. It was cool. Looked like I had dropped a pocketful of tiny diamonds on the ground.

It has been so hot here that I haven't knit or really done anything the last few days except read and watch tv. Thursday we had our carpets and sofa and chair professionally cleaned. Yeah it was so hot that I sat in my puter chair right here in the room while the guy did half the floor and the sofa and chairs (he did the bedrooms first) then hubby moved my chair to the kitchen under the ceiling fan and I sat there while he did the rest. Hubby got a helper to help him move all the 3 rooms of furniture outside and after, back in the house. But we still have a porch full of things we have to go thru and decide what I want to toss and want to keep. I don't want to keep much as less is less clutter in here. now to just talk him into tossing it that's the trick. He hates to throw out stuff.
Ok that's it for today.

ready for the ms4

Ok so I have all the materials needed except for the tiny crochet hook. I bought a size 00 but it is wayy to big so I just ordered a size 12 and 14 last nite from JOanns. They ship fast so it should be here about the time the kal begins.
I have swatched and it looks good with a size 4 needles. oh I also ordered a size 4 bamboo straight needles and a circular one as well. I'm not crazy about the steel ones I have as the last few stitches will slip off way to easy. Wood or bamboo is always better for me. also the straight ones I can use better sometimes.
I haven't knitted a thing in the last few days. It has been just too hot. It always is hot the first week or so of school and the gkids are in the second week of school. so there ya go.

baby booties and hat

I worked on these booties and the hat the last couple of days. They are for a neighbors new grandson. Aren't they the cutest? I made a couple of these for my grandson Cole and they look so cute on him.
Now I am thinking about making a Wallaby for my granddaughter Mia Bella. She will love it for this winter and I've already made Cole one.

Want to see my water fountain???

Here's what I've been looking at all day. I've just been sitting on my porch, listening to the noise the water makes as it falls, talking to my hubby and my daughter Rue, and the last hour just knitting on some baby booties for a neighbor. How cool looking is this? and in a trailer park no less. lol I'm hoping it will attract the birds in the area. We have lots of them. There was a little lady bug on here but we finally had to rescue it when it got in the water.

Mia Bella's 3rd Birthday July 2.

We celebrated my grandaughter Mia Bella's 3rd birthday earlier this month. She wasn't feeling all that well but I think she had lots of fun that day. She loves music and can sing songs as good as the rest of us can. And smart. she is so smart. She does love her barbie dolls so me and Pa gave her like 5 or 6 of them along with a few other things. Of course she carried the dolls around the rest of the day.

On the phone the other day her mom told her that I was not feeling well and she asked me did I barf? hahahhahahaha she had been sick at day care and had barfed so just wondered if I had too. I absolutely love the things that come out of her mouth.

While she is Miss Independent and would rather not have to kiss anyone hello or goodby, she will give us knuckles when asked. Her brother Cole on the other hand is a lovey dovey guy. And smiling all the time.

Here he is with our dog Rayo. He would follow him around the house and would let Rayo lick him on the mouth for a kiss. his mom would say EEEEhhhhhwwwwww

Day 13

Well I'm starting on day 13 of a 14 day treatment for this bacteria that causes ulcers. I had horrible ulcers when I was only 24 but I finally got it under control after a few years. My dad had bleeding ulcers. Do they run in families?

Anyway, what I thought was side effects of my new diabetes medicine turned out to be the shocking return of the ulcer from hell. Tests from doc discovered that I needed this treatment so here I am. Almost done with it.

I am so full of pepto bismol and prilosec and tetracyline and this other medicine. My body smells like the other medicine. a slight salty sweaty smell. very faint but I am aware of it at all times.

even right after my shower. yuk. i sure do hope this treatment cures me of the bacteria. I will have to have another blood test to find out. Oh I was suppose to be doing this poop 3 day test but I haven't gotten up enogh nerve to do it. I mean if my ulcer is bleeding lets just get rid of it and get on with things already, right? why go poking at my poop. double yuk.

I just have not been myself for the last 2 weeks. I've been in pain and a not so good mood and haven't felt like really talking to or listening to anyone. But I can only live in my bedroom so many hours a day and then have to come out and greet the family or dog or fish whomever is here. I know I've been a bear to live with and I'm so totally sorry about that. When I've needed rest the most and peace and quiet, my house has been filled with folks, playing and having fun and me in my bedroom wishing someone would just come in and ask me if I needed anything, or to just sit for a minute with me quietly. Then I got over it. lol nobody even cared that I was sick and trying to sleep. Such is life and I';m glad I'm here to have it and now I'm going to bed with my hubby who is snoring softly and so it our chihuahua Rayo. Love my guys.

Couple of projects finally done.

Well I got 2 things done. A dinosaur bib and the whodunknit skein swap project. I'm really happy about it because I've been feeling really out of it the last couple of weeks. NOt up to par since starting the diabetic medication. I took it for 3 weeks so far and my sugar is still way up and with it making me feel so bad I just stopped taking it. Now I'm waiting for the doctor to call me back and tell me what is next.

The bib is the photo above. I think it came out really cute. just have to block it a bit and then give to baby cole.
I won a skein of sock yarn on the Whodunknit group so am going to use it to start a pair of sock for myself later this week. wooooot

A Squirrly surprise!!

Yesterday morning I was just getting ready to make some coffee and was standing at the sink when a little squirrel jumped from our porch gate to the little window above the sink. It startled me so!! But I didn't squeal like I normally would have. I'm just glad that the window was closed or we would have heard me squealing all over the place! lol. This guy really tried to get in and when he couldn't he just sat back on the gate and looked around for a long time.

We have lots of squirrels around here, I see them everyday, and also have ducks that live in the creek in the back of us. It's like a mini forest around here, I love it.

I think I will name this squirrel Squeaky. Hubby took a few photos of him for me.

Javie's 6th birthday

Yesterday was my gs's 6th birthday. Javie had a super great day. He had fun in the jumper all day and had snowcones and a pinta and candy and barbeque and gifts. what a day. You can see how happy he is in the photo. He's getting ready to blow out the candle.

Progress report

Let's see, first of all Happy June 1st!! I can't believe that half of the year is here. wow.

Ok I'm 2/3 of the way done with my Who Dun Knit project. I like the way it's looking. just think I really do need to make it longer but I was only sent one skein to work with.

And on the ripple scarf I haven't worked a stitch in a few days.

It seems like I can't get much done this last week. My new pills for my diabeties is making my tummy hurt a lot and giving me the runs most days. So between thinking I'm hungry and then realizing it's a tummy ache instead and running to the bathroom I'm not very energetic. Today I spent most of the day laying in bed watching tv.

I did work on the whodunknit project so got something worked on but that's all.

No one came over and it was real lonesome here too. Usually the gks will come over but their Mommy was resting so I didn't bother her by asking her to bring the kids over.

The photo above is of the ripple shawl I'm making for myself except I'm doing mine in Redheart Linen.
Going to bed now. Oh I lost another lb at last thursdays weigh in at my weight watcher meeting and daughter Rue lost 5!!!

A New Beginning

I had gone to the doctors last month and had blood work done. It came back that I might be diabetic. So I thought about it for a while and then talked my daughter Ruthie into going with me and we joined weightwatchers.

My thinking was, if I am diabetic, losing weight will help out with that, a lot. And if I'm not diabetic, well I am finally ready to change my life around enough to commit to working hard.

ANyway, last test came back and yep, I'm diabetic. Started taking a pill, which by the way, has my tummy in an uproar. Next week will go to the nutritionist and get the low down on what I really need to do for the diabetic diet. Going to take my weightwatchers books with me and see what we come up with.

But you are asking, how have I done so far in the last 2 weeks at weigh in????? Well I've lost 6.8 lbs so far. over 3 lbs each week. I think that is too much so I have to step up my food intake a bit. I guess 1 to 1 1/2 lbs a week is the goal.

You guys already know what I look like so will wait til I've lost like 50 lbs before I post a progress photo of me. hahahahha yeah like I can wait that long. lol

Camp Okizu

We, meaning my daughter Ruthie and her 3 kids and I, went to Camp Okizu last weekend. It is in Santa Cruz, a place called Kennolyn . There is a conference center and then further down the property is the many cabins and swimming pool, rec hall and dinning room. It is a peaceful, beautiful place and I enjoyed myself.
3 days of no tv or phones or computers, just relaxing time on your hands.
I hung out in the dining hall rec room and played a lot of Apples to Apples with the people that would come and go. ANd I talked to peeps, real conversations too!! I even layed down one afternoon while kids were swimming and finished a book. It was fabulous.
First photo is of the kids in the pool. second one is of the deck off the dining hall, the girl with the towel standing in the middle of the photo is my gd Olivia, see her kool ade smile. Thats me standing on the porch of the cabin, you can see my wheelchair. Next is Javie sitting on bed in cabin. and the last one is of me pushing my wheelchair up the hill and gd Monica following behind.
