And Mia modeling the little tanklet I just made for her

I asked her mom to try on the tanklet I made for her birthday so Tina took off the top Mia had on and Mia started crying big time. Think maybe she thought her mom was leaving again or something but once she had the tanklet on she stopped crying. It is on backwards but still looks good on her.  Posted by Picasa

Mia Modeling a hat I made for her

What a cutie she is in her hat. It stayed on for about 5 seconds. Posted by Picasa

A Happy 4th of July

I spent the better part of this 4th of July in Napa at my girl Tina's home, babysitting Mia Bella. What a super treat that was for me. It is rare that they need a babysitter so I jump at any chance to spend time with her.
As you can see, she is a super happy baby. We had the best of times today!!

Here are the two Noni bag patterns that I ordered last night from Yarnzilla.com. I've already been informed that they have been shipped!! Cool, and the shipping for the whole order was a flat $5. that is super cool. I don't have the handles yet for the bags but that can wait for a while right? lol

Having some scooter fun

I thought the grandkids would enjoy having some scooters to play with so I picked up 3 of them at Target yesterday. I sit on my porch and knit while watching them play. We live on a dead end street so it is a safe place to play. Posted by Picasa

Mia Bella's 1st birthday!!!

Well my youngest grandchild, Mia Bella, turned 1 today. Here is a photo of her and her Mommy and Daddy at their business. Yes, parents do have to work on your birthday especially if you happen to own an Ice business and your birthday falls on the busiest week of the year!! So we had a small party at their work. She is sitting on the gift me and Pa gave her. I think she likes it too. Posted by Picasa

Finished tank top for Mia

Here is the finished tank top for my granddaughter Mia. She will be one on July 2nd.
I used the pattern that I mentioned earlier and it is so easy to do. The pattern only goes up to size 4T I think but now I am just starting one for Olivia, one of my other granddaughters. She is 8 but she is big for her age as is all of her siblings. She looks like she is 11 or 12. yikes!! Any way she asked me to make her one in pink but it ended up gonna be purple and white! Posted by Picasa

I am up to this display this morning

Yes I was a little Blue this morning when I got up to this little scene. My Num Num must have been looking for some fabo yarn cuz he throughly went thru this basket of yarns. He mixed up a few skeins so well that I still haven't gotten them untangled. Why can't dogs just play with their stuff and leave my stuff alone?????? Posted by Picasa

A different yarn holder idea

My gd went to Marine World this weekend and brought home a big soda cup that has two holes in the top of it. One hole the straw goes into and the other hole is to put the top of the straw into so you don't spill your drink. Any way I was just looking at the cup and lid cuz the kids have taken out the straw and are playing with it. This cup would be nice for a yarn holder. Already has the holes, you could use 2 balls of yarn even.

My yarn holder

Last time I was in Walmart with my sis Bikki, I picked up this yarn keeper for $7. I had tryed using an empty baby wipe container but it was too small so I liked this one. Then Bikkie told me yesterday that she went home and took an empty candy container and poked a few holes in the top and now she has one too! With extra holes and $7 cheaper than what I paid! That's using her noodle huh!
This is the little tank top that I am making for my gd Mia Bella. She's gonna look soooo cute in it.

My niece Steffen, daughter of my sister Vickie, lives in Mexico. She sent her Mom and me and my daughter Rue some beautiful 14k gold earrings from Mexico. Vickie took this photo of me wearing them yesterday. They are tri colored hoops and the colors match my black hills gold wedding ring. Thank you Steffen. I love them. Aren't they pretty???? Posted by Picasa

Done with one sock

Here it is. Taaaa Daaaaaaa. I can't believe that I did it. I knit a sock. How cool is that? Well now I have better knowledge of how my foot is shaped and what I need to do to make a sock that fits it well. Like this one for instance. First the cuff is a bit too big and the heel part is about 5-6 rows to long. the foot part I can add half an inch to it also. Then using that formula, I can make me some GREAT socks.

Sock progress

I am totally into this sock now. I have the heel and the heel gussets done and am just working on the foot part, you know from the heel to the toe. Then I will be done with the first sock. I bet cha anything that it won't take me long to finish the second one!!
Why am I loving this??? Cuz I have learned something new and have improved my knitting skills. COOL
